Janes Blindfold

In classmates I, Jane is wearing a blindfold with what looks like small holes around the eyes. Just wondering can she see thru the blindfold, does it do something to her vision, or just a look of the blindfold.

That blindfold is mimicking medieval time horse's face armor—a part of a harness.
